Leonard “Roy” Rosenboom

Leonard “Roy” Rosenboom, 77, of Camanche, died Thursday at his home.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Elvira Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Walter Malkewitz officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lemke Funeral Home, South Chapel, 2600 Lincoln Way.

Pallbearers will be Danny Nielsen, Jerry Wisor, Don Mohr, Charlie Watkins, Craig Watkins, Craig Lorenzen and Keith Boysen. Honorary pallbearers will be LeRoy Andresen, Orville Meyer, Ronnie Kair and his Alcoa co-workers.

He was born Aug. 19, 1928, near Eddyville to Henry and Arline King Rosenboom. He married Wilma C. Hippler on Aug. 8, 1961, In Morrison, Ill.

He attended Rose Hill High School.

He was a farmhand and a farmer. He also worked at Alcoa for 26½ years, retiring in 1991.

He was a member of Elvira Zion Lutheran Church and Alcoa’s retirees club.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Lori (Dan) Peppmeier of Camanche and Joni Saling of Lathrop, Mo.; two sons, Jerry Rosenboom of Camanche and David Rosenboom of Phoenix; four grandchildren; two brothers, Frank (Dorothy) Rosenboom of Bettendorf and Richard (Lillian) Rosenboom of Clinton; and one sister, Marilyn Schnerstein of Winston, Ore.

Memorials may be made to the family or the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, son-in-law and one grandchild.
