Irene Tipton

FULTON, Ill. - Irene S. Tipton, 79, of Fulton, died Thursday at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church, Clinton, with the Rev. Larry Carter, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Lusk Memorial Cemetery, Albany, Ill.

She was born June 13, 1926, in Chicago to John and Susie B. Bazso Kocisko. She married Wendel J. Tipton on March 23, 1946, in Chicago.

She was a graduate of McKinley High School, Chicago.

She was employed with the former Fidelty Life Insurance Co., Fulton, for six years. Then she was employed as a teller with Swisher Savings and Trust Bank from 1969 until her retirement in 1984.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley (Len) Dykstra of Fulton and Mrs. Wendy (Derrill) McDanel of Council Bluffs; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth 'Betty' (Charles) Marks of Spring, Texas; and one brother, John (Coreen) Kocisko of Norridge Park, Ill.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or the Mercy Dialysis Center, both in Clinton.
