Anna Rose Benhart

OXFORD JUNCTION - Anna Rose Benhart, 93, of Oxford Junction, died Monday at Silvercrest of Anamosa.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Oxford Junction United Methodist Church with the Rev. Pat Slater officiating. Burial will be in the Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Lahey Funeral Home, Oxford Junction.

She was born July 17, 1912, in Oxford Junction to Vince and Josephine Nowachek Burda. She married Edward Benhart on Jan. 15, 1930, in Maquoketa. He died in 1963.

She graduated from Oxford Junction High School in 1929.

She and her husband farmed northwest of Oxford Junction before moving to town in 1950. She worked with Coons Corner Grocery Store, Oxford Junction, for 25 years.

She was a member of Oxford Junction United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Community and Pinochle clubs. She was a 4-H leader for many years and was named an honorary member of the Jones County 4-H Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Donna (Keith) Barber and Mrs. Carolee (Kenneth) Brinkman, both of Oxford Junction; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Cherry Benhart of Cedar Rapids; and three sisters-in-law, Marjorie Burda of Maquoketa, Dorothy Benhart of Oxford Junction and Frieda Benhart of Wyoming.
