Vera Sidlinger 04/04/1999 CLINTON, Iowa -- Vera I. Sidlinger, of 1619 N. 4th St., died Saturday, April 3, 1999, at Wyndcrest Nursing Home, Clinton. The Rev. Dan Schadt will officiate. Burial will be in Erie (Ill.) Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Sidlinger had worked at Erie High School and later at Harlan's Drug Store and Roses Dry Goods, both in Erie. She also taught piano from the home. Vera Cocking was born April 21, 1918, in Prophetstown, Ill., to John and Rosa (Ballard) Cocking. She married Gerald E. "Sid" Sidlinger on April 12, 1941, in Sycamore, Ill. She graduated in 1936 in Erie High School. She was a member of Community Congregational United Church of Christ; American Legion Auxiliary, Erie; and Tag Along Trailer Club. Memorials may be made to Community Congregational Church. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Debbie Schroeder, St. Charles, Mo.; grandchildren, Julie Raab and Jim Jungjohann; and great-grandsons, Cameron and Evan Raab and Erik and Jared Jungjohann. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a half brother.
