Ruth Alvis 02/07/1999 CAMANCHE, Iowa -- Services for Ruth A. Alvis, of 1433 Lawrence Ave., will be 1 p.m. Monday at Camanche Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Home. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Alvis died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, at Samaritan Hospital North, Clinton. She was employed many years as a bartender at Trade Winds and Bonnie's Tap and as a beautician. Ruth Best was born Feb. 21, 1934, in Morocco, Ind. Ruth Behrend married Billie Alvis in 1977 in Camanche. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Julie Stoller, Clinton, Jane Behrend and Sue Peters, both of Camanche, Joan McDonald, Clovis, N.M., and Julie Holly, Phoenix; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
