Harold Walther 12/15/1998 DeWITT, Iowa -- Memorial services for Harold E. Walther, of DeWitt, will be 10 a.m. Friday at DeWitt United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Wilton Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Mr. Walther died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998, at Wheatland Manor. Before his retirement in 1982, Harold sold real estate and insurance at Walther Insurance and Real Estate in DeWitt. He also farmed for 17 years. He was the founder of the DeWitt Area Association of Realtors. He was born Jan. 30, 1916, in Moscow, Iowa, to Ernst and Ella K. (Rush) Walther. He married Laura Kendall on Sept. 7, 1939, in Anamosa. Harold was a member of DeWitt United Methodist Church. He also was a member of Bald Spots. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards and music. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Survivors include his wife; daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Reggie Campbell, Grinnell, and Jane and Martin Grell, Walsenberg, Colo.; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Kristie Walther, DeWitt, and Dennis Walther, Fountain, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, his twin, Helen Werling, Wilton, and Rose Marie Jasperson, Wilton. Harold was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
