The Clinton Herald Tuesday January 19, 1988 p. 12 The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Lutheran Church of the Atonemnet for Dale A. Buell, 52, of 1005 N. 2nd St., who died Sunday in Veterans Hospital, Iowa City, following a brief illness. The Rev. Randy Abernathy will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Clinton Chapel, Snell-Zornig Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harold Whiting, Larry Koch, Glenn Jackson, Don Dethmann, Michael Murphy, Gerald Ramig, Larry Witt Sr., and Kerry Wilkerson. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Sweeney, L. Charles Lentz and Richard Tharp. Mr. Buell was born June 24, 1935, in Clinton, to William C. and Elfrida L. Dethmann Buell. He was a 1953 graduate of Clinton High School and served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960. He was employed at Clinton Corn Processing Company for 26 years, retiring in 1979, was a member of Clinton Corn 25-Year Club, Clinton Bowling Association, Wednesday Afternoon Businessmen's League, Lutheran Church of the Atonement, was a longtime member of Die Hard Cub Fan Club and was an ardent Chicago Bear fan. Survivors include his mother of Clinton; two brothers, Glenn W. of Boothbay, Maine, and Robert D. of Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his father, a sister and a brother.
