The Clinton Herald Saturday July 1, 1989 p. 12 Glenn W. Buell, 59, of Boothbay, Maine, formerly of Clinton, died Thursday in Portland Hospital, Portland, Maine, of natural causes. A memorial service will be at a later date in Boothbay, Snell-Zornig Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. Mr. Buell was born Feb. 7, 1930, in Clinton, to William C. and Elfridea "Frieda" Dethmann Buell. He was a 1948 graduate of Clinton High School. He worked for the Clinton Post Office for a year, and then attended the University of Iowa, where he graduated in 1954 with a bachelor of arts degree. Mr. Buell was in the insurance business in the Chicago and St. Louis areas, and later moved to West Port, Conn., whre he lived for 25 years, before moving to Boothbay five years ago. He was a dealer in antiques and collectibles; worked as a state electrician in legitimate theaters; and was a gourmet cook, working with various chefs in the West Port area. He was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Lutheran Church, Clinton. Survivors include his mother of Clinton; a brother, Robert D. Buell of Iowa City; and two nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers and a sister.
