The Clinton Herald Thursday March 18, 1954 p. 14 Mrs. Walter Joens, 60, former Clinton resident, died suddenly Wednesday afternoon at her home in West Chicago, Ill. The body will be returned to the Snell funeral home where friends may call Friday evening. Funeral services there are planned for 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery. The former Mabel Quick, daughter of Hamilton and Ida Klizki Quick, was born March 19, 1893, in Clinton. She attended local schools and was married to Walter Joens on Feb. 1, 1919. They had been residing in West Chicago for the past 25 years. She is survived by her husband; a son by a previous marriage, Merritt Robinson; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her parents, three brothers, a sister and three grandchildren preceded her in death.
