The Clinton Herald Saturday October 3, 1964 p. 5 Mrs. Hans Bott, 72, of 1417 N. 3rd St., died in Mercy Hospital at 8:30 p.m., Friday after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Pape funeral home. The Rev. A.C. Koengeter, pastor of the Andover Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Friends may call at the Pape funeral home after 7 p.m. today. Bertha Dierks Bott was born in Hampshire Township, Clinton County, on June 11, 1892, the daughter of Peter and Christina Hinrichsen Dierks. She was married Dec. 17, 1913, in Lyons to Hans Bott. The couple farmed in the Hampshire Township for many years before retiring in 1941 and moving to Clinton. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1963. Mrs. Bott was a member of the German Auxiliary and was baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Maxine) Evers of Clinton; two sisters, Mrs. Erna Sander of Bryant and Miss Emma Dierks of Chicago; three brothers, John P. and Jerry both of Clinton and Peter of Preston; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.
