The Clinton Herald Saturday July 15, 1933 p. 8 Philip McEleney, 68, 3131 Cleveland street, life-long resident of the north end, died at 2 o'clock this morning in Mercy hospital, where he had been a patient since Monday, following a paralytic stroke. The body reposes in the home of his niece and nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard H. Cossman, 3131 Cleveland street, where friends may call. Funeral services will be held Monday morning with requiem mass at 9 o'clock in St. Irenaeus church. The Rev. E.F. Jackson, will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Philip McEleney was born May 25, 1865, in the old town of Lyons, a son of the late Patrick A. McEleney and Gridget Gill. He received his education in the local schools, and was a member of St. Irenaeus church. With the exception of 16 years, when Mr. McEleney and his brother, James McEleney, lived in Bethel, Minn., he has always lived in the north-end where he was widely known. Of his immediate family his is survived by one brother, James McEleney, of this city, and several nephews and nieces, including Mrs. Leonard Cossman, William McEleney and Leo McEleney, of this city.
