The Clinton Herald Thursday October 6, 1949 p. 18 Ernest W. Bonnemann, 62, former wholesale gracer, died early today in Jane Lamb hospital. He had been in ill health about three weeks. His home was at 122 North Fifth street. The body is in the Snell funeral home, where friends amy call beginning at 7:30 tonight. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. F.E. Schoenbohm officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery. Rose Croix services will be conducted at the funeral home by members of the Scottish Rite temple. Mr. Bonnemann was associated with the wholesale grocer of Bonnemann and Zinglemann for 27 years. Later he returned to; his trade as a machinest with the Chicago and North Western railroad and at the time of his death was employed at the Collis company. A thirty-second degree Mason, he was a member of Western Star lodge, 100 A.F. and A.M., the DeMolay consistory, Keystone chapter, 32, R.A.M., the United Commercial Travelers and the Clinton Boat club. Mr. Bonnemann was born March 10, 1887, in Clinton, the son of William and Julia Bonnemann. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and married Nellie Norskov Oct 3, 1917, in Dubuque. He is survived by his wife; one son, Dean F. at home, one daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Ardelle) Shelton of Dallas, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. J.C. Zingelmann of Clinton and Mrs. Richard Price of San Francisco, Calif., and several cousins and nieces. Preceding him in death were one brother and one sister.
