Marian Hazel Britch

BETTENDORF — Marian Hazel Britch, 79, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died at her home on Thursday, November 17, 2005.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Bettendorf Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9128.

She was born May 27, 1926 in Fulton, Illinois, the daughter of Charles & Mathilda (Bell) Kruse Sr. On May 27, 1944, she was united in marriage to Wallace Britch in Clinton, Iowa. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1984.

Marian was most recently employed at the Hy-Vee Grocery Store in Bettendorf. In earlier years, she was employed at K & K Hardware for many years and also at the former Bishops Buffet in Bettendorf.

She loved living on the river and enjoyed visits there to see the duck & other birds. She also liked a periodic visit to the gambling boats. Above all else, her beloved family, especially her grandkids & great-grandkids were the joy of her life.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter & companion, Cathy S. Benesh & Dorlores Johnson of Piqua, Ohio; her son & daughter-in-law, Wallace & Gloria Britch of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Shawn Christiansen, Amanda Poffenberger, Casandra Little, Ryan Benesh, David Britch & Tracy Lawson; her great-grandchildren, Mikey, Chianne, Sierra, Alyson, Clay, Blake, Anthony, Jessica, Mary, Bryce, Amber, Alicia, Shannice, Chaise & Cassidy; her sisters, Elizabeth Rathje and Ella Naeve, both of Sabula, Iowa; her brother, Charles Kruse of Maquoketa, Iowa; and her close & special friend, Harold Wells of Moline, Illinois.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother and by her parents.
