The Clinton Herald John M. Waldorf, 90, of Bluff Terrace, died Sunday at Samaritan Hospital North. A private family service will be Thursday at Pape Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Brewer of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy, David and Kenny Waldorf, Yale Christensen, Eric Hyde and Roy Struve. He was born Oct. 29, 1907, in Clinton, to John and Catherine Zimmert Waldorf. He married Dorothy Struve, June 9, 1961, in Clinton. She died Dec. 5, 1980. He attended St. Boniface School. He was a longtime supervisor with Pillsbury Co. He then retired from the Clinton School System in 1973. He was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, where he had served as a trustee. Survivors include five sons, Richard Waldorf of Cordova, Ill., and Jack, Jim, Tom and Gene Waldorf, all of Clinton; 12 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers. Death date: March 22, 1998.
