The Clinton Herald Saturday September 2, 1933 p. 8 William Struve, prominent resident of this vicinity and operator of a local feed mill, died last evening at 9:45 o'clock in his home here. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. J.S. Leamer, pastor of the St. Paul's Lutheran church at Clinton officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Mr. Struve was born in Jackson county near Reeseville, Aug. 18, 1858 and moved to Teeds Grove with his parents some years later. Later they moved to Hauntown where he assisted his father in operating a mill. In 1878, a brother, John, also started working at the mill but in 1888 moved to Clinton where he went into business for himself. At the time of his death the deceased had been operating the mill in partnership with another brother, Paul. He married Ella Myers, April 3, 1888, and to this union were born four children, Mrs. Thomas Thompson, Mrs. Henry Miller, Joe and Roy. Mrs. Struve preceded him in death. Nov. 10, 1897 he was married to Dora Myers, and to this union were born four sons, Virtus, Harvey and Lyle of Hauntown and Leslie. In addition to the children 12 grandchildren, three brothers, Paul Edward and John, and two sisters, Mrs. Joe Meyers and Mrs. John Frahm, of Clinton, survive. One brother, Ferdinand, died two years ago.
