OXFORD JUNCTION — Robert N. “Bud” Mizaur, 90, of Oxford Junction, died Wednesday at Jones Regional Medical Center, Anamosa.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oxford Junction, with the Rev. William C. Kneemiller officiating. Burial will be in the Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction, with military honors accorded by American Legion Wapsie Post 473, Oxford Junction. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the Lahey Funeral Home, Oxford Junction, where a vigil service will be at 6:30 p.m.
He was born Dec. 13, 1914, to Nicholas and Rose Novotny Mizaur. He married Barbara Byerly Russell on Oct. 16, 1946, in Anamosa. She died in 1989.
He graduated from Oxford Junction High School.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a master sergeant with the 25th Signal Co. for more than 3˝ years.
He was a farmer.
He was a compliance superintendent with the A.S.C. office in Monticello for many years.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served as a past trustee and American Legion Wapsie Post 473, Oxford Junction. He was a clerk for the township trustees for many years and a 4-H leader.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathleen Marie Mizaur of rural Oxford Junction; one son, David Alan (Linda) Mizaur of Monee, Ill.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Josephine Russell of Cedar Rapids; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John R. Russell and Gail Russell of Clinton; one sister, Thelma Rohwedder of Olin; and many nieces and nephews.
