Marta Anita Becker 01/12/2005 DeWITT, Iowa -- Marta Anita Becker, DeWitt, Iowa, died Monday afternoon, January 10, 2005, at home. Marta was born April 22, 1951, in Waverly, Iowa, to Robert William and Patricia Ann (Sieglaff) Becker. She graduated from DeWitt Central High School in 1969 and received an Associate Degree in Interior Design from Scott Community College. Marta was employed by Dr. Roger and Cora Tan for many years. Most recently she had been employed by Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt. She loved gardening, church work, needlepoint, visiting friends and playing cards. Surviving are two brothers and a sister, Stephen (Barbara) Becker, Grand Island, Nebraska, Dorothy (Douglas) Gerdes, North Liberty, Iowa, and Paul (Ronda) Becker, DeWitt; and three nephews and a niece, Carissa (special friend, Ed Charboneau) Becker, Joshua (Laura) Gerdes, Nathaniel (special friend, Verena Kober) Becker, and Daniel Becker. Family and friends may visit at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2005. Service of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2005, at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt. The Rev. Keith Speaks officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. Memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church for Altar Supplies, Camp Courageous and VNA Hospice. Pallbearers will be Roger Korf, Tom Moore, Tom Alexander, Terry Sill, Dr. Gregg Polzin, Bill Bartine and Bob Schwardt. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Sill and Charles Peters.
