Mildred Weaver “Milly” Bendixen, 95, of Clinton, died Tuesday, November 15, 2005, at the Alverno Health Care Facility.
Mildred was born on May 14, 1910, in Morrison, Illinois, the daughter of Clarence and Emma (Pearson) Weaver. She married Harold Bendixen on April 5, 1941, in Clinton; he preceded her in death on June 9, 1991.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as a deaconess. She served on the auxiliary board of Jane Lamb Hospital, member of the Chapter HV P.E.O, and the Clinton Country Club. She graduated from Morrison High School in 1928.
Survivors include two sons: John Bendixen and his wife Marilyn of Rockford, Illinois; William “Bill” Bendixen of Clinton, Iowa; one daughter: Barbara Nielsen and her husband Russell of Riverside, California; one grandson: Christopher Bendixen and his wife Natalie of Muscatine, Iowa; and one great-grandson: Tyler John Bendixen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers: Allen, Howard, and Vernon.
Respecting Mildred’s wishes, Private Graveside services will be Wednesday, November 16, 2005, at Springdale Cemetery with Rev. Connie Peake officiating. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
