CLINTON — Donald A. "Bob" Buikema, 74, of Clinton, died Monday at Mercy North Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lemke Funeral Home, South Chapel. Burial with military honors will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
He was born March 15, 1931, in Clinton to Lewis R. and Sylvia Zeeryp Buikema. He married Mary Easley on Sept. 5, 1954, in Camanche.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1949 to 1953 aboard the USS Gurke as a machinist mate third class.
He worked at Standard Brands, Clinton Corn and retired in 1993 from Archer Daniels Midland.
He was a member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Dr. Brenda (Chad) Buikema-Meacham of North Liberty; a son, Bradley Buikema of Clinton; one grandchild; two sisters, Lois Hagge of Clinton and Shirley (L. Bruce) Mohr of Sarasota, Fla.; and severalnieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Mercy Home Health Care or the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
