Bruce J. Wiersema, 64, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton, died Wednesday Nov. 9, 2005 at the nursing home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The Rev. Scott Stephan, pastor of Second Reformed Church in Fulton, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Fulton Township Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bernie Vogel, Steve Goodenough, Arnold and Harlan Wiebenga, Harold Sikkema, Dwayne Pessman, Doug Wiersema and Phillip Bryant.

He was born March 2, 1941, in Clinton to Burnie J. and Jeannette Busz Wiersema. He married Ruth A. Geerts on Sept. 18, 1971, in Morrison, Ill. She died in July.

He attended Fulton grade schools and graduated from Fulton High School in 1959.

He was employed with Patent Novelty, later known as Fulton Corp.; the U.S. Postal Service, Fulton; American Air Filter, Morrison; and Carstensen Freight Lines, Clinton, before retiring in 1980.

He was a member of Second Reformed Church, Fulton, and was the church’s pianist. He was a member and served on the board of the Fulton Historical Society and also belonged to the Over 50 Club. He was a driver for the senior citizens bus and was a coordinator of the Fulton Food Pantry. He played piano, organ and tuba in the original Clinton Symphony Orchestra.

Survivors include one brother, Warren Wiersema of Fulton.
