Robert Lanphere

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — Robert Lanphere, 83, of Coeur d’Alene, died Oct. 18.

Visitation will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Church of the Open Door followed by a funeral service at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Home, South Chapel, 2600 Lincoln Way, is assisting the family with arrangements.

He was born April 24, 1922, in Prophetstown, Ill., to Ross and Mabel Lanphere. He married Betty Nissen on June 22, 1949, in Clinton. He resided in Camanche most of his life.

He was a 1940 graduate of Clinton High School. He attended the Colorado School of Mines.

He was a veteran of World War II.

He was a quality control supervisor of the starch lab at Clinton Corn Processing. He retired in 1982.

He was a Master Gardener.

He was a member of the VFW American Legion and Family Life Center Foursquare Church, Coeur d’Alene.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Ross (Peggy) Lanphere of Hayden, Idaho, Mrs. Lauri (Ray) Morrow of Camanche and Mrs. Wendy (Gerry) Lyons of Chester, Va.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis Abbott of Camanche; one stepbrother, John Rohwer of Sterling, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.
