Lucy Petersen

Lucille H. “Lucy” Petersen, 95, of Rockford, Ill., and formerly of Clinton, died Saturday October 29, 2005, at the Alden Alma Nelson Care Center, Rockford. She was born on October 14, 1910, in Clinton, IA, the daughter of John & Nina (Williams) Finn. Lucille graduated in 1928, from St. Mary’s High School, Clinton. She was married to Edwin Petersen on January 11, 1936, in Clinton.

Lucille is survived by son, Richard “Dick” (Jackie) Petersen of Rockford; grandchildren: Anthony “Tony” (Allison) Peterson of Energy, IL, Julia Petersen of Rogers Park, IL, Elizabeth (Matthew) Hand of Rockford; great grandchildren: Margaret Petersen, Patrick & William Hand; special nephew, John (Marilyn) DeWitt of Clinton, IA; special nieces: Alice Eisenhower of Missouri, Sharon DeWitt of DeWitt, IA, Janice Lemkule of San Jose, CA; numerous other nieces & nephews; her cat, Cleo. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin; and 14 brothers & sisters.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 3rd, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clinton with Rev. Gerald Stouvenel officiating. Burial will follow in Clinton Memorial Cemetery. A visitation will precede the
