Ronald N. McCready, age 67, of Savanna, Ill., died Thursday, October 27, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center in Clinton, Iowa. Funeral Services will be held 12 noon, Monday, October 31, 2005 at First United Presbyterian Church in New Windsor, Illinois. A viewing will be from 10:00-12 noon prior to the Funeral Service in First United Presbyterian Church in New Windsor, Illinois. Friends may call 3:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2005 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, Illinois. Burial will take place in Hopewell Cemetery in New Windsor, Illinois.

Ron was born March 15, 1938 in Aledo, Illinois, the son of Marvin J. and Helen (Williams) McCready. He attended New Windsor High School graduating Class of 56. Ron married Diane L. Willems in New Windsor, Illinois. He attended Eureka College, Eureka, Illinois graduating 1961 with a Bachelor Degree. Ron was a member of the Eureka College Athlete Hall of Fame in football.

Ron came to Savanna to teach at Savanna High School, he retired after twenty nine years of service in 1993. He also coached track, basketball and football for the High School. Ron was a former Governor, Junior Governor, Secretary, Treasurer and Prelate of the Savanna Moose Lodge # 1095. Ron enjoyed gardening in his leisure time.

Ron will be dearly missed by his two sons, Brent (Rebecca) McCready of Bloomington, Illinois; Brad (Lisa) McCready of Jackson, Tennessee; one daughter, Darcy (Tim) Johnson of Reedsburg, Wisconsin; two sisters, Lois Spivey of New Windsor, Illinois and Bev (Harold) Munson of New Windsor, Illinois; two sisters in-law, Pat McCready of New Windsor and Wanda McCready of the Quad City Area; one brother in-law, Jack Nall of Alexis, Illinois.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Linda Nall and two brothers, Dick and Melvin McCready.
