CHANDLER, Ariz. — John Conery, 88, of Chandler and formerly of Hastings, Minn., died Wednesday Oct. 26, 2005.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings, with visitation from 9 a.m. until the service time Monday. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minnesota in 1936.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He worked with American Bridge and U.S. Steel in Minnesota, Indiana and New York. He retired in 1977 to Hastings.

He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Hastings.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Frett Conery; one daughter-in-law, Merilyn Conery of Hastings; five grandchildren; six stepchildren, Mary Beth Wejman, James, Jean, Margaret and Marian Salutz and Janice Pate; one brother, Bill (Florence) Conery of Blaine, Minn.; one sister-in-law, Maxine Conery of Ellsworth, Wis.; eight stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, one son, one brother and one sister.
