MAQUOKETA — Clement L. Brown, 75, of Maquoketa, died Thursday Oct. 27, 2005, at the Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa.

Public graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bridgeport Cemetery, rural Maquoketa. The Rev. Ruth Ann Scott will be officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Monday at the Carson and Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa.

He was born June 13, 1930, in Freeport, Ill., to John and Charlotte Belle Brown. He married Roberta Scobey on April 20, 1959, in Iowa.

He was a Northeast High School graduate.

He worked as a welder and welder inspector with Allis-Chalmers, Cedar Rapids, for several years and Harnish-Fegere, Cedar Rapids, before retiring to Maquoketa in 1989.

He was of the Lutheran faith.

Survivors include his wife; children, Steve Brown of Williamsburg, John Brown of Cedar Rapids, Mark Brown of Iowa, Mrs. Janice (Brad) Carver of Cedar Rapids, Tina Brown of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Deborah (Matt) Owens of Zuni, Va.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Fred (Tomi) Nielsen of Maquoketa, Jim (Judy) Brown of Delmar and Clayton (Betty) Brown of Clinton; and three sisters, Mrs. Mary (Robert) Clark of Maquoketa, Mrs. Vivian (Merlin) Rupp of Monticello and Mrs. Joan (Jerry) Clark of Maquoketa.

A Clement L. Brown Memorial Fund has been established.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Death Date: Oct. 27, 2005
