Kennard Hunsberger, 82, formerly of Rock Falls, Ill., died Friday Oct. 28, 2005, at Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton, Ill.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls, with the Rev. Dennis Glew officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

He was born Oct. 10, 1923, in Ladysmith, Wis., to Harold A. and Alda M. Stees Hunsberger.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II.

He worked as a machinist at Lawrence Brothers in Sterling, Ill., for 35 years.

He was inducted into the Sterling High School Hall of Fame for his 62 years of attendance at football games.

Survivors include one son, Craig Alan (Tammy) Hunsberger of Sterling; three daughters, Donna (Elwyn) Vogel of Fulton, Priscilla “Penny” (Michael) Linden of Clinton and Pamela (Roy Jones) Wolf of Sterling; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four brothers, Harold (Ruth) Hunsberger and Gerry (Judy) Hunsberger , both of Sterling, Roger (Carol) Hunsberger of Georgia and Lowel (Corrine) Hunsberger of Dixon, Ill.; two sisters, Leola Kent of Sterling and Cheryle (Ernest) Lippens of Harmon; one sister-in-law, Lola Hunsberger of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Rock Falls or Sterling athletic boosters.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Death Date: Oct. 28, 2005.
