MAQUOKETA — Pat A. Wiggins, 70, of Maquoketa, died Monday Oct. 24, 2005, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

There will be a celebration of her life at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Maquoketa, with Revs. Mel Valdez and Clair Odell officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Carson and Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa.

She was born Nov. 2, 1934, in Rochester, N.Y., to George T. and Mary Huston Thomas. She married Ted Wiggins on April 24, 1954, in Lawrence, Kan. She and her husband moved to Maquoketa in 1957.

She was a 1953 graduate of Lawrence Memorial High School. She then attended the University of Kansas for one year.

She was a secretary at First United Methodist Church, Maquoketa, for 15 years before retiring in 2004. She also owned and operated Pat’s Bookstore, Maquoketa, for several years and worked as manager of Casey’s General Store, Maquoketa, for one year.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Maquoketa, where she served as past worthy matron twice.

Survivors include her husband; children, Terri Notz of Kansas City, Mo., Mark (Brenda) Wiggins of Maquoketa, Chris (Lisa) Wiggins of Nashville, Tenn., and Sheryl Wiggins of Lawrence; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Mike (Jeanene) Thomas of Spring Hill, Kan.; and one sister, Mrs. Rosemary (John) Crouch of Lakewood, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter.

A Pat A. Wiggins Memorial Fund has been established.
