MAQUOKETA — Ardella B. Staner, 87, of Maquoketa, died Monday Oct. 24, 2005, at the Briarwood Care Center in Maquoketa.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa, with the Rev. James Chappell officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Maquoketa. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service time Wednesday at the Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa.

She was born May 10, 1918, in Bernard to Cornelius Bruno and Emma Josephine Berfield Koch. She married Raymond Staner on Jan. 4, 1939, in Fillmore. He died in 1988.

She worked at the Button Factory, Monticello.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Anne’s Circle and the Jackson County Hospital Auxiliary, Maquoketa.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Mary (Bill) Uppena of Potosi, Wis.; one son, Harold (Lois) Staner of Maquoketa; one daughter-in-law, Eileen Staner of Colona, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Ann Marie (Roman) Lampe of St. Donatus, Mrs. Kathleen “Kay” (Tom) Kane of Dubuque, Marcella “Peggy” Hannig of Peosta, Helen McClain of Deerfield, Wis., and Mrs. Elaine (John) Forrest of Safety Harbor, Fla.
