Sherri Burns, 63, of Thomson, Ill., died Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna, Ill.

There will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Lusk Memorial Cemetery in Albany, Ill., with Rev. Toni Lucas, pastor of the Albany United Methodist Church, officiating. Please visit www.bosmarenkes.com for updates on the date and time. The Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Sherri was born February 16, 1961, in Clinton, Iowa, to Richard D. "Dick" and Norma (Bultema) Burns. She was educated in the Albany Grade Schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School. She worked in the food service industry and dedicated many years at Buck's Barn Restaurant. Sherri was a member of the Albany United Methodist Church. She loved cooking and enjoyed experimenting with new recipes. In her leisure time, she loved doing needlepoint, online shopping, and getting lost in a good book. A devoted cat lover, she cherished the moments spent with her beloved cat, Wavy.

Survivors include one sister, Carolyn Dolph of Albany, Ill.; two brothers, Gary Burns of Albany, Ill., and William "Bill" (Susan) Burns of Cordova, Ill.; one brother-in-law, Ron Drobak of Fulton, Ill.; one stepsister, Deb (Duane) Weise of Camanche, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Sandra Jones and Lauri Ann Drobak.
