Betty Bergmann, 78, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2005, at Genesis Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, at Ascension Lutheran Church, Goose Lake, Iowa, with the Rev. Caroline Engelbrecht officiating. Burial will follow at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jeff Koberg, Eric Koberg, Adam Bergmann, Tony Bergmann, Jason Bergmann and Josh Bergmann. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mrs. Bergmann's other grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Lemke Funeral Home South Chapel, 2600 Lincoln Way, Clinton.
Mrs. Bergmann was born February 21, 1927, to Nick and Emelia (Petersen) Dockwell, in Dike, Iowa. She attended high school in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She married Orlyn Bergmann on December 26, 1947. She was employed by Nielson Clearing House in Clinton for 13 years, cared for her husband for 32 years as he battled MS and was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family and her cats.

She was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Goose Lake and a member of the Eve Circle.
She is survived by her husband, Orlyn, of Clinton; six children, Debbie (James) Krambeck, of Davenport, Jon (Cathy) Bergmann, of Clinton, Susan Williams, of Moline, Craig (Kim) Bergmann, of Charlotte, Iowa, Lori (Steve) Uelner, of Milwaukee, Wis., and David (Deb) Bergmann, of Eldridge, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six half sisters.
Memorials can be made to the church and Genesis Hospice Volunteers for Prayer Shawls.
