Mrs. Jonas Davis, 65, died at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, August 7, in her home in Toronto, after a year's illness.
Mrs. Davis was born July 29, 1884, in Germany, the daughter of Henry and Katerina Glenap. She came to this country when she was four years old. She was first married to Herman Wiedenhoff Oct. 25, 1900. After his death, she was married to Jonas Davis on May 27, 1939. She was a member of the Evangelical and Reformed church at Lowden.
Surviving are her second husband; four daughters, Mrs. Lester Timm of Bennett, Mrs. Elmer Timm of Wyoming, Mrs. Fred Busch of Lost Nation and Mrs. Martha Groenwaldt of Wheatland; two sons, Chas. Wiedenhoff of Massillon and Victor Wiedenhoff of Wheatland; one brother, Henry Schnor of Olin; one sister, Mrs. Amanda Blayney of Anamosa; 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were the first husband, parents and one sister.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev. C. H. Koehler of Wheatland officiating. Burial was in the Massillon cemetery.
Hymns were sung by Miss Kathleen VanKirk of Wheatland.
Pallbearers were all grandsons, Leroy Scheper, Marvin Schau, Donald Timm, Robert Wiedenhoff, Mirlyn Crist and Darrell Timm. Flower girls were grand-daughters, Mrs. Marvin Schau, Mrs. Dale Jensen, Darlene Timm and Roberta Groenwaldt.
