Grace E. Paarmann, 81, of DeWitt, died Monday at Trinity Medical Center, Terrace Park Campus, Bettendorf.

Visitation will be at the Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Service of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Jim Kledis will be officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.

Pallbearers will be Chad Griep, Troy Paarmann, Dick Broadfoot, Dick Blake, Warren Smith and Darrell Spence.

She was born Feb. 24, 1924, in Scott County to Thomas and Zella Graham Fletcher. She married Earl Paarmann on July 30, 1977, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, DeWitt.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Chester Griep of DeWitt and Roy (Mary Kay) Griep of Calamus; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four stepchildren, Gary (Cathy) Paarmann of DeWitt, Les (Jone) Paarmann of Wheatland, Craig (Monica) Paarmann of DeWitt and Mrs. Karen (Mark) Salmon of Crystal Lake, Ill.; nine stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Verna Helble of DeWitt.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
