Ethel Dunlavey, 99, of DeWitt, died Monday at Amber Ridge Assisted Living, DeWitt.

There will be a funeral liturgy at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt. The Rev. H. Robert Harness will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. A rosary will be held at the funeral home at 5 p.m. Thursday with a Scripture service at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

She was born Feb. 11, 1906, to Gust M. and Winnie Farrell Thiessen in Center Township, Clinton County. She married Michael Dunlavey on Nov. 21, 1923. He died in 1959.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a longtime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and at one time was senior regent.

Survivors include one daughter, Rosemary Ledin of Ankeny; one son, Leonard (Lois) Dunlavey of DeWitt; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Stella Hansen of Iowa City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, two sisters and one grandchild.
