Grand Mound, Ia. - June 29. The body of the late William Fellner, who died here at his home last Thursday night was taken to the Davenport crematory and incinerated Monday morning. Johannes Kroeger of Davenport delivered the funeral address at the late home of the deceased in the presence of a large number of relatives and former old friends and neighbors. There were 20 autos in the funeral cortege to the cremation at Davenport. The pallbearers were: Conrad Brick, Teo Brocksman, Knut Olson, Henry Griebel, P. H. Blunck and Chris Voogt.
The ashes of the deceased were brought here today and deposited in the family plot in Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Fellner was 76 years and 4 months old. He was born at Bowm, Salstepford, Hanover, Germany, on February 18, 1849 and came to America when 17 years of age and settled at Mt. Joy, Scott county, where he lived until 1863. He was married to his surviving wife, Margaretha Anderson, and bought a farm in Berlin township where he continued to live until twenty-three years ago. With his wife he then moved to Grand Mound into a comfortable home that they built, renting their farm to their son Emil who is still on same. Their union was blessed with five children, two daughters and three sons. He leaves to mourn his death besides his wife two sons, Theodore at home and Emil living on the homestead in Berlin township, the other three having already preceded him, also one brother, Fritz, and two sisters, Minnie Arp and Fredericks Fick, who live in Davenport; five grandchildren and numerous friends and neighbors. He was a good citizen and friend, a good husband and father, and the friends of the family here console with them in their bereavement.
