SOENKSEN, THIELEN, SMITH, DEAN, ANDERSEN

Dale Eugene Soenksen, of Clinton, died Friday, April 15, 2005, at Bluff Terrace, Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Doresa Collogan officiating. Visitation will be at Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig-Dennis A. Lemke Funeral Home and Crematory from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Kvapil, Gene Miller, Dave Rajcevich, Tom Soenksen, Ron Soenksen, and Cal Swanson.
Dale was born February 1, 1943, in Clinton, to August T. and Vernetta Thielen Soenksen. He spent his childhood years in Topeka, Kan., and New London, Wis. His family returned to Clinton in 1960. Dale was a 1961, graduate of Clinton High School. He married June Smith on June 17, 1961, in Clinton. Dale worked for Curtis Company and then Clinton Corn from 1963 and then ADM till his retirement on April 1, 2005. Dale enjoyed his family and his dog. He loved to tell jokes and his sense of humor helped everyone get through this past year.
He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. Dale was Green Bay Packer fan and was proud that he marched with the New London High School Band on Lambeau Field at the Field dedication.
Survivors include his wife; one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Susan Soenksen, of­Rockford, Ill.; two grandchildren, Timothy and Julie; one sister, Bette (Alan) Dean, of Broomfield, Colo.; three brothers, Roger (Kathy) Soenksen, of Harrisonburg, Va., David Soenksen, of Oshkosh, Wis., and John (Jenny) Soenksen, of Bettendorf; one aunt, Luella Andersen, of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Michael, who died in 1986.
