Raymond L. Carr, 78, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2005, at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehablitation Center in Clinton. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Prince of Peace Parish, Clinton. Interment will follow in Springdale Cemetery. Pallbearers are Dorance Cox, Thomas Cannon, Charles Horner, Earl Farrell, Jim Krava, and Richard Steele. Lemke Funeral Home North Chapel, 2304 N. 2nd Street, Clinton, is in charge of arrangements.
Raymond was born August 31, 1926, in Clinton, to Benjamin and Helen (Harkins) Carr. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Navy. He married Enid Quick on March 29, 1948, in Davenport. She preceded him in death on October 3, 2004. He was employed by Clinton Corn as a foreman. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Hawkeye Boat Club. Mr. Carr loved computers and camping.
Mr. Carr is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Keith) Graves, of Grand Mound, Iowa, and Kathryn (Thomas) Rehr, of Clinton; a son, Darryl Carr, of Bettendorf; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert Carr, of Clinton, and Richard Carr, of Anamosa, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Memory Loss Unit at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clinton.
