Carl A. "Bear" Jensen, Jr. passed away at his home in Blair, Nebraska on September 11, 2005.

Carl Andrew Jensen, Jr., was born on January 11, 1952 to Carl and Elaine (Grimm) Jensen in Clinton, Iowa. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1970 and attended Clinton Community College. He then served in the U.S. Navy where he studied nuclear science and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked for Omaha Public Power District as an Operator in the Control Room at Fort Calhoun Nuclear Station. Carl was an avid gun collector and was well-known for his handcrafted specialty knives which he sold to people throughout the world. He enjoyed the outdoors, working in his shop and spending time with his family and pets.

Those left to share his memory are former wife of 24 years Janie Jensen, son and daughter-inlaw, Kourt and Dee Anna Jensen and their three children Anthony Hytrek, Kailynn and Kenner with whom he loved spending time. Surviving stepchildren are Doug Peterson of Lake Worth, Florida and Desi Downey of Franklinton, Louisiana. Surviving sisters and spouses are Carol and Larry Frees of Wheatland, Iowa; Eileen and Warren Jensen-Burnham of South Glens Falls, New York; Emily and Gary Jensen-Krambeck of Wheatland, Iowa; Patricia King of Calamus, Iowa; five nieces, three nephews, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Carl is also survived by his friend and most faithful companion Duncan, his chocolate Labrador Retriever, that will now spend his time with loving friends in Decatur, Nebraska.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents Carl Andrew Jensen, Sr., in 1986, and Elaine Jensen in 1983.

Visitation will be held with the family Thursday, Sept. 15th from 6-8 p.m., at Campbell-Aman funeral home in Blair. Services will be held Friday, September 16th at 10 a.m., at Country Bible Church in Blair, followed by Military Honors at the Blair Cementery.

There will be a luncheon with the family at Country Bible Church following all services on Friday.

An additional memorial service will be, held at a later date for his family and friends in Eastern Iowa.
