Mr. Robert Huber, 87, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at home.
Mr. Huber was born Oct. 5, 1917, the son of Edward and Isiebell (Dusenberry) Huber. He farmed much of his life northeast of DeWitt. Bob married Lola Mae Davis Sept. 14, 1940, in Clinton, Iowa. They moved to Branson, Mo., in 1969 where they owned and operated a mobile home park and camp ground for several years until returning to the DeWitt area in 1973. He then worked as a custodian for the Central Community School District. Lola Mae preceded Bob in death in July of 1985. He married Betty (Owens) Johnson on May 19, 1990. at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Davenport. The couple retired to DeWitt in 1994. Betty preceded Bob in death March 25, 2004.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, DeWitt. Bob enjoyed fishing, repairing things, family and helping his neighbors.
Surviving are his children, Phyllis Hanrahan, Delmar, Iowa; Laura (Tom) Flint, Clinton; Karen (Leon) Thiessen, Clever, Mo.; John (Shirley) Huber, Fulton, Ill.; Tim (Cathy) Huber, Reed Springs, Mo.; a step-son, Owen Johnson; four step-daughters, Sandra Von Sprecken, Gail Jimenez, Pam Miller, and Denise Johnson; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lawrence, DeWitt, Jessie Mussmann, Miles, Iowa.
In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Regina Hanrahan, three brothers, Johnnie, Clarence, and Pete ,and two sisters, Ethel Clifton and Lucille Goodman.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2005, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at the funeral home., with the Rev. Bill Huff officiating. Interment will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Genesis Hospice or First Baptist Church, DeWitt.
Pallbearers will be Rob Huber, Mike Flint, Brian Flint, Pat Hanrahan, Dan Hanrahan, Sean Hanrahan, and Larry Hanrahan.
