Margaret A. Dihlmann, 82, of Clinton, Iowa, died Friday, March 18, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center North Campus, Clinton.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2005, at First Presbyterian Church, Clinton, with the Rev. Connie Peake officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Regina Hardter, Kristin Roode, Elise Dihlmann-Malzer, Michael Roode, Eric Hardter, Greg Dihlmann-Malzer and Brian Roode. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig-Dennis A. Lemke Funeral Homes and Crematory.
Margaret Ingledue was born March 19, 1922, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of James and Myrtle (Lillibridge) Ingledue. She married Henry Dihlmann on June 23, 1943, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
She was a graduate of Mason City High School and Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
She taught American History at Washington Middle School for 30 years, and in 1986, received the Gold Key Award from the Clinton Community School District.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she was a deacon. She was a member of PEO Chapter FI, a charter member and 50-year member of Beta Rho Chapter of ESA, and a life member of the Iowa State Education Association.
She is survived by her husband, Henry, of Clinton; three daughters, Margaret Dihlmann-Malzer (Ron Malzer), of La Crosse, Wisconsin, Sally Roode (Joel Roode), of Hampton, Iowa, and Nancy Hardter (Steven Hardter), of Nazareth, Pennsylvania; three granddaughters, Regina Hardter, Kristin Roode, and Elise Dihlmann-Malzer; and four grandsons, Michael Roode, Eric Hardter, Greg Dihlmann-Malzer and Brian Roode.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church and to Washington Middle School for the Margaret Dihlmann Memorial Fund.
