Grand Mound, Ia. -The aged father of Mrs. Henry Schwien occurred Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Weede, from the disabilities of ago, he being in his 80th year. He was well known in Grand Mound where he visited frequently with his daughter, Mrs. Schwein and family. He was a quiet and unassuming old gentleman and was on friendly terms with all his acquaintances here. He was a native of Germany and came to America about forty years ago during which time he made his home with relatives in this and Jackson counties. The funeral was held this afternoon at Lost Nation, relatives from here attending. He leaves to mourn his death his daughters, Mrs. Henry Schwien of Grand Mound and Mrs. Charles Weede of Nashville, Jackson county, and a number of grandchildren.
