18 June 1915 - The Clinton Advertiser

Lost Nation, Iowa - Herman Louisfield was born Nov. 6, 1845, in Heresfeld, Rhine province, Germany, immigrated to America in 1848 and settled in Illinois. In 1850 the family moved to Brookfield township, Clinton County, Iowa, and he has lived in this community ever since. He was married three times, the wives being namely: Susanna Cressey, Minnie Christiansen and Charlotte Teeple. He was the father of nine children of whom three are living, Wm., of Lost Nation, Henry of Davenport, and Mrs. Close of Wyoming. He died June 14, at 12:17. He was sick four weeks, the cause of his death being paralysis. He was a good neighbor, a helpful friend in sickness and in time of trouble. He had practiced sixteen trades in his life time, was a veterinary surgeon and a cement worker of late years. The funeral services were held from the Lutheran church, Rev. Vollmer officiating Wednesday afternoon with interment in the Lost Nation cemetery. A crowded church attested the esteem of many neighbors and friends. Relatives and friends attending from a distance were his three children: Mrs. Close and husband of Wyoming; Henry Louisfield and wife of Davenport, Mark Glorifield, a nephew and Clifford Louisfield, a grandson of western Iowa; Will and Henry Glorifield, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Behrens of Lowden and others.
