18 January 1918 - The Clinton Advertiser

The funeral of the late Harold Calenborn will be held from the home on South Fifth street Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, Rev. Stockley of the Grace Episcopal church having charge of the services. A brother, Lester, is on his way from Wyoming, and the parents, who reside on a farm near Cordova, are already here.

Harold Jonath Calenborn was born in Clinton Feb. 19, 1896, and was 21 years of age at the time of his death. He lived here all his life and attended the Lyons public school, and at the time of his death he was employed by a Clinton ice company. The young man made his home with his sister, Mrs. Frank Bishop, and much sympathy is extended to the bereaved relatives.

12 January 1918 - The Clinton Advertiser

A large number of friends of the late Harold Calanborn, whose death resulted from a knife wound, were present at the funeral services held yesterday afternoon at 1:30 to pay their last respects to the young man. Rev. W. Ernest Stockley of Grace church officiated, giving a most impressive service. The following young men attended the casket: Gerald Hall, Harry Loafe, Roy Cawley, Will Michaelsen, Joe O'Brien and Frank Strohm. The body was placed in the receiving vault of the Oakland cemetery. The deceased was a member of the Woodman of the World, and had a large circle of friends. He was a friend to all who knew him, and was always ready with a helping hand to aid any one who needed him. It was through this one characteristic that he was injured so seriously as to cause his death. This sad bereavement will be a shock to his many friends, and their heart-felt sympathy is extended to his grief stricken parents, brother and sister.
