Funeral services for Mrs. Wilma Swafford, 58, were held at the Priester funeral chapel, Bloomfield, Aug. 19 with burial in the IOOF cemetery at Bloomfield. Mrs. Swafford died at the Davis county hospital, Bloomfield, Aug. 16, following a lingering illness.
The daughter of Leonard and Myrtle Hayes, she was born at Calamus Dec. 14, 1914. After graduation from Calamus high school she worked as bookkeeper for a hardware store and later was a teller at the Calamus bank. She was married to Robert Swafford Aug. 22, 1937. He preceded her in death Nov. 17, 1970.
Most of her married life was spent in Bloomfield. She was a member of the United Methodist church, its WSCS, the Order of Eastern Star and the Rebekah Lodge.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Roberta, a senior at Iowa Methodist School of Nursing, Des Moines; Mrs. Steve (Kathy) Fox, Oak Park, Ill.; 2 grandsons; her parents, Leonard and Myrtle Hayes; a sister, Mrs. Ronald (Vivian) Luikart; a niece and nephew and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
