28 June 1973A long-time REC director, Glenn Schepers, 68, Lost Nation, died at his home June 24 of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. June 27, in Union Presbyterian church, Lost Nation.
Mr. Schepers was born in 1905 on a farm near Lost Nation. He married Ruth Hohn in 1928.
At the time of his death he was serving on the Board of Directors of Eastern Iowa Light and Power Cooperative. He had been a director since 1945 and was a past president. He was a former member of the local school board, former trustee for Grant Township and former county assessor.
He was a member of the Rose Croix Masonic Order and also of Lost Nation Eastern Star. He had farmed his entire life.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Lorraine Pozzi, Seattle, Wash.; sons, Dr. R. H. Scheper, Knoxville; Marlyn, Muscatine, and Loren, Sycamore, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Elmer (Gladys) Ibsen, DeWitt, and a brother, Elmer Schepers, Lost Nation.
A Rose Croix Masonic service was conducted at the funeral home. Burial was in Lost Naton cemetery.
