Chief (Ret.) Russell W. Luckritz, Jr., Clinton Fire Department, 80, of Clinton passed away, Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral Services will be 2:00pm, Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home.

Russell Waldemer Luckritz, Jr. was born on August 14, 1941 in Clinton, the son of Russell and Lillian (Zastrow) Luckritz. He was a 1959 graduate of Clinton High School and attended Clinton Community College. He married Joan Lawlor on February 23, 1963 in Clinton.

Russ served as a firefighter for the city of Clinton for 33 years retiring in 2000 as Fire Chief, serving as chief for 13 years. He was a member of the Church of the Visitation. He enjoyed playing golf at Valley Oaks and Fulton Country Club. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Russ is survived by his wife: Joan of Clinton; his children: Alicia (Steve) Romont of Coralville, Iowa, Jennifer (Chuck) Clayton of Woodstock, Georgia, Angela Luckritz of Alice, Texas, and Mark Luckritz of Omaha, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Vicki (Terry) Vicks of Clinton, Keith (Bonnie) Luckritz of Clinton, and Linda (Doug) Wherry of Erie, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Barbara.
