LeRoy J. Schmidt, 88, of Davenport formerly residing in Florida, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Eagle Point Health Care Center - Clinton.

LeRoy J. Schmidt was born December 1, 1933 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Harry and Frances Schmidt. He attended Davenport Central High School. He married Mary Felton on June 7, 1954 in Davenport, Iowa; she preceded him in death on March 3, 2016. He was a tool and die maker for over 30 years at Uchtdorf Tool and Die. He owned and operated Artistic Framing and Gallery doing custom framework and later worked as a crossing guard for the City of Davenport. LeRoy enjoyed having a good time, had a great sense of humor, enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino and he will be remembered as being a wonderful dad to his children while they were growing up.

LeRoy is survived by his three children: Steven Schmidt of Davenport, Susan (Doug) Anderson of Eldridge and Shelli Schmidt of Florida; four grandchildren: Ryan O’Shea, Kaitlin O’Shea, Tara O’Shea and Westin (Beverly) Schmidt; and great grandchildren: Hayden, Raelyn, Ezekiel, McKenna, Greyson, Jackson and Walker. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and several brothers and sister.
