James W. Anderson, 63, of 2644 Pacific St., Davenport, died at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Davenport Osteopathic Hospital. He had been ill for 10 days.

He was born Nov. 9, 1893, in Greene County, Iowa. He married Mary E. Myers April 17, 1915, in Wheaton, Ill. He had been a resident of Davenport for 35 years. He owned and operated the Anderson Welding Service at 625 Harrison St. Mr. Anderson was a member of Fraternal Lodge, No. 221, AF & AM.

He was graduated from DeWitt high school.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Haney, of Bettendorf, Mrs. Frank Wickman, of LaCrosse, Wis.; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the McGinnis Funeral Home, Bettendorf. The Very Rev. Russell K. Johnson, dean of Trinity Cathedral, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.
