CLINTON - Funeral services for John D. Balster, 74, were held Monday afternoon, July 25, in Snell-Smith funeral home. The Rev. M. S. Bredow of Zion Lutheran church officiated. Burial was in Clinton Memorial park.

Mr. Balster died at 4 p.m. July 22 at his home in Clinton. He was born Dec. 22, 1892 in Monticello, the son of John and Margaret Rickels Balster. He was married Dec. 8, 1915 in Monticello to Reka Oltmann. He was employed by Clinton Corn Processing Co. for 29 years before his retirement.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, John H., Merle and Robert of Clinton; six grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Henrietta Harford and Mrs. Anna Meier of Clinton.
