Edward A. Harmon, 86, of Clinton passed away Friday, October 15, 2021 at OSF Rockford Medical Center – Rockford, Illinois.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Kingdom Life Community Church in Morrison, Illinois. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery with military honors being rendered by the United States Marine Corps. Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory.
Edward Alvin Harmon was born August 3, 1935 in Randolph, Iowa, the son of Ivan and Rosella (Matheson) Harmon. He graduated from Plainville High School in Plainville, Kansas and then earned his Associates degree from Clinton Community College. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1953-1956. He married Edith Luce on October 18, 1958; she preceded him in death on September 25, 2009.
Ed worked for Interstate Power Plant later known as Alliant as a shift supervisor. He was an active member of Kingdom Life Community Church in Morrison. He enjoyed playing and listening to music. Mostly he enjoyed time spent with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his two sons: Michael (Cheryl) Harmon of Moline, Illinois and Stephen (Michelle) Harmon of Morrison, Illinois; five grandchildren: Kelsey (Tom Kamp) Harmon of Des Moines, Iowa, Evan Harmon of Davenport, Iowa, Paige (Ben) Wilbur of Fulton, Silas Harmon of Morrison and Lily Harmon of Morrison; three great grandchildren: Avia, Adalie and Sawyer; siblings: Doris Murray of Camanche, Dixie (Don) Meredith of Webb City, Missouri and Pamela Burrus of Overland Park, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Ed was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Carolyn Axtell.
Memorials may be made to Kingdom Life Community Church.
