David W. Andrews, 74, of Clinton passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa.

David William Andrews was born July 26, 1947 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Jack and Priscilla (Bell) Andrews. He was a 1965 graduate of Clinton High School. He attended college for a while before he was drafted into the United States Army where he served during the Vietnam War. He married Nancy Andrews on May 24, 1969 in Clinton, Iowa; she preceded him in death on February 10, 2019.
Early in his career, David owned and operated the Anchorage Marina. After selling the marina, he went to work for the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad, and later retired from the Union Pacific Railroad. Those that knew David, know what a hard working man he was, whether at work, home, or even helping a friend. After 5 years of retirement he decided to go back to work, working for ADM for some years before retiring again. When he wasn’t working he could be found in his red Lund trolling back and forth on a wing-dam, catching walleye. Those that were lucky enough to fish along side him are the ones trusted with his favorite fishing spots. His fish fry were legendary, complete with his secret recipe breading. David spent much of his time with his grandchildren, who held a very special place in his heart.
David is survived by his two daughters: Jennifer Andrews of Aurora, Colorado and Theresa (Tyler Jensen) Andrews of Clinton; two grandchildren: Caden Melchiori and Eva Jensen; and one brother: Martin (Carol) Andrews of East Moline, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his sister Jill Andrews, and his parents.
